After helping dozens of friends navigate their Vietnam e-visa applications, I’ve noticed most confusion comes from not understanding what those status messages actually mean. “Submitted” is the starting point – your application is in the queue. “Processing” means an officer has your file and is reviewing it. Neither of these should worry you in the first few days.

“Approved” is obviously the good news, and you can download your visa immediately. “Additional information required” means they need something from you – usually a clearer photo or corrected passport details. The system sometimes glitches and shows this even when everything is fine, so give it 24 hours before resubmitting anything.
