The Vietnam Immigration Department is the government office that issues Vietnamese e-visas. It runs its own portal at immigration.gov.vn, and its postal address is 44-46 Tran Phu street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi. If you applied for an e-visa and are waiting, that office is the one holding your file. It does not answer emails from travellers who just want a faster result.

What the department handles, and what it does not

The portal’s own home page lists the services it provides: e-visa issuance, e-transactions for applying for a visa at Vietnamese representative offices abroad and at border checkpoints, temporary residence declarations for foreigners, ABTC cards, and passports for Vietnamese nationals. Nothing on that list is a hotline for tourists, and nothing promises a processing time.

That matters when your e-visa is late. The department decides the application and gives individual applicants no priority lane. For a late file, the useful questions are whether the application actually reached the system and what its status says. Our e-visa status guide walks through both.

The portal moved in November 2024

Old guides still send people to addresses that no longer work. According to the notice on immigration.gov.vn, from 08:00 on 11 November 2024 (GMT+7) the electronic visa portal operates on two domains: thithucdientu.gov.vn and evisa.gov.vn. Applications and result lookups both happen there. Type evisa.gov.vn into the address bar yourself; links from ads and search results are where fake portals hide.

We are a private service and not the Immigration Department. We cannot change a decision it has made. What we can do is submit and prioritise an application through our own channel, which is a different thing from asking the department to hurry.

Contacting the department directly

Use the contact page on immigration.gov.vn, not a phone number or email pasted into a forum. We have not verified any number or address other than the street address above, so we do not list any. Expect an official channel to answer slowly, and do not rely on it if your flight is within days.
